Year 9

Another Horrendous year at the plate for the Birdos left a promising season under the .500 mark with just 77 wins. A league worst .703 OPS shows the front office needs to make some serious changes to the lineup this off season.

Pitching was a bright spot as the staff held down a 3.89 ERA. Stephen Williams was also had a better year if you are looking for a silver lining and should anchor this offense in the future.

The fans of St. Louis deserve better and I would not be surprised to see drastic changes this off season. Some big International signings and Draft picks from years past give fans something to look forward too.

Team History Year 8

Record: 79 - 83

Birdos went off to a fast start in '08 staying above the .500 mark for a majority of the season. It looked as though the playoffs were in their future for the first time in club history but a late season collapse pushed them out of contention. Another very competitive year for the NL East who saw the Philadelphia Pirates win the World Championship. The Birdos relied heavily on the pitching staff who posted a 3.79 ERA. The Bats did not fair as well, an NL worst .246 batting average was a major component of the late season collapse.
